Planning on it, unless I'm out of town.

We're postponing the launch of our secret weapon until April so it's going to be me, Snatch, and the Skipster. We'll be there Friday morning for a little pre-fishing as well.

Bryce and I are up in the air. Never fished there before and can't pre-fish. We will let you know as soon as a decision is made.

For your information and that of other new members.captkeyser wrote:Bryce and I are up in the air. Never fished there before and can't pre-fish. We will let you know as soon as a decision is made.
When NFGFC was founded and the tournaments began, few if any members had fished the areas outside St.Marks. Me included. Because of NFGFC I can enjoy fishing from Keaton Beach to St.Joe Bay now.
In the beginning I did not prefish many of the outer areas. I still held my own in the tournaments. Because of NFGFC I fish these areas on non tournament days because they hold good fish and they are fun to fish.
Any member who is familiar with the Keaton area will be more than happy to give you pointers or advice on fishing there or any other area we are familiar with. Two of the four principles NFGFC was founded on are FRIENDSHIP and EDUCATION.
I am certain in the next few weeks this forum will be full of helpful hints on Keaton.
You and Bryce are accomplished fishermen. It is time you took your skills on the road.
Look at Casey Cook. A year and a half ago he did not own a rod. Last year he was NFGFC Angler of the Year.
All new members should fish the Keaton tournament. It is about developing friendships and learning new areas.
Plus we have fun, food, prizes. And you will get to meet BadBehaviour.
You might even win a FALCON ROD or a POLAR BEAR COOLER or a SEATOW MEMBERSHIP or a pair of $1000 sunglasses from South Georgia Outdoors.

Re: Keaton March 8 Tournament Rollcall

Steve's right...the club teaches you to fish areas you'd never go if there wasn't a tournament. I learned a ton about Keaton, Carrabelle and St. Joe last year. If you can find fish at St. Marks, you can find fish pretty much anywhere in North Florida. In strange water, just look for areas that are similar to the places you usually fish or that look "fishy" and you'll succeed...and take your gps so you can mark the spots for next year.
