Since that would be a federal offense, I do not think anyone would want to find out.....

Probably $250 for each offense, meaning for each grouper you were in possession of. But a guilty plea in court would most likely get them reduced.

Correction, a plea agreement with the prosecutor can get it reduced :-D The judge generally follows the recomendation of the prosecutor :roll: :beer:

I am betting a good lawyer could get it thrown out, since the publicity about it has been confusing to say the least. HOWEVER,the attorney would probably cost more than the fine.....

That & if you get caught a second or third time they can take away your fishing privledges permanently. Most states are linked now too & they could prevent you from getting a license in another state as well.
