Re: Keaton Beach 2/25/08
With respect to the two dolphins, a friend's daughter was on an air boat over a week ago when they ran up on three "small" dolphins 'stranded' on low tide. They said they were 4 to 5 feet long and in good health. They actually pushed/herded them out to deeper water, but they would try to return to the skinnier water. I wonder if this was the same group. One thing they said that was cool was that while they were herding them out, one may dart away from the other two, and the two dolphins together would call to the other ("eek, eek" - sorry, I don't speak dolphin - that's what my friend said) and the stray one would come back to the others.

These dolphins were larger than that and appeared to have been dead for longer than a week. The dead dolphins I found may explain the 3 small dolphins behavior.
