Lanark 3-1; Oyster Bay 3-2

Post by Talltails »

Saturday morning, Capn Crunch and I paddled out over at Lanark. There wasn't much water, and the tide was pretty feeble all day. We did manage to find some reds in some shallow water over a mixed bottom sandbar. Gold spoons were the ticket on Saturday.

On Saturday, I paddled out to Oyster Bay. The fog smoke was extremely dense. My Gps was the only way to navigate to the area I wanted to fish. The water was very stained from all the recent rainfall. I found some trout and caught several to about 20 inches. I caught them until two boats full of noisy yahoos and popping corks sweated me off my spot.
Hopefully the water will clear up soon. That made for some tough fishing.

That's a big pinfish for March 1st (IMO).
Seeing it started my topwater Spanish clock ticking.
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
