New Guy needs help
I live in Tennessee, but will probably get down to Bald Point this December and this coming June. I will be bringing a canoe and would like to know any good places for it. Is the canoe a waste of time? Mostly only fished for specks before but would like a few redfish. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Any where you can pullover and put the boat in along that area should do.....You have skipper bay, bottoms road, Wakulla Beach (not actually a beach
), Mashes Sands (good looking tidal creek to the left)..Bottoms Road...Talk to the guys at the bait store, they generally have the skinny.....

Hi VolFan!
I'm originally from Celina and have lived in Tallahassee since March. I'd recommend taking a flats charter or something like that if you are only getting down here a couple of times a year.
This saltwater Red and Trout fishing beats anything that I've ever seen fishing in Middle TN. My buddy and I've been trying to go every other week since June. We've been catching huge amounts of 4-8 pounders of Reds and Trouts all summer! It's amazing!
I see you're from Jamestown, TN. Feel free to email me directly at vicarms@comcast.
Good Luck
Dale Hollow....

Thanks for the help guys. Being a college student I am a little short of money so a guide trip is probalby out. Any advice on additional equipment for canoe fishing. I've always waded before. Is there any need for any different tackle or tactics. Dale Hollow, if you find yourself around my part of the country would be interested in some smallie fishing? I fish mostly the Wolf, Obed, and Big South Fork but occasionaly find myself in that lake you must know.
