Castnetting for mullet

Post by DwayneFisherman »

Can anyone tell me a good spot to wade out catch my own mullet with a castnet?

The mullet were in the upper saltwater creeks a couple of weeks ago. We loaded a bunch.

In the past I've had some luck right around the lighthouse.

I watched a guy on the oyster bars in goose bay creek (about a 1/4 mile walk down the shoreline southwest of wakulla beach) catch a bunch of them a while back. He said the oysters are tough on the net but he gets so many mullet there its worth a new net every couple months.
