Lanark 3/09

Post by Reel Slow »

Met BD early (+30). Goal was some Lanark reds and trout on the fly. No spin in the boat.

Met more wind than predicted, but this was expected. E then SE, where was the NE? Oh well.

Bumped about 15 fish in groups of 1 - 3 from 7:30 - 2:00. No good shots though as wind was pushing us fast and sight conditions were poor. Saw Lit, and others around TP.

That was fewest fish I've seen in a while. Those we saw were tight lipped and not feeding. We figured it could be slow day after that massive front and so it was, but good to get out nonetheless..beat house cleaning.

Can't wait till next time  .

Glad you guys got out. I knew that was a sweet boat; but, had no idea it could ride on its side like that 8)

I try to gauge what the fly guys are doing because they can see a whole lot better than I can and they usually have a decent idea about what they're doing. I didn't know that was you but I noticed that you weren't moving much so I guessed ya'll were seeing or catching something. I guess I need to just start paddling up & saying hi.
BTW, you were set up right on where I caught the Cobia 2 weeks ago. It's actually a pretty flaky spot that ought to be a lot better than it is. All time favorite for me now though.
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
