Slipped off today to try our luck at Econfina for the first time. We lauched about 10:00 am this morning and followed some good people out the river channel. No problems with the rocks and thanks for the folks. The water was like a mirror as you can see in the pics. Second cast and I had this 18.5 inch trout on a mirrorlure.
Partner caught a couple of shorts and then landed his first keeper.
We fished about 4 hours and caught 10 trout but only 4 keepers. Ran into a nice fellow out on the flats that had done real good and in a hour he had his limit. Water temp started at 59 and got up to 61 by afternoon. It was good to get the fishing started for 2008, may try them again saturday.
Don't be taking that sorry partner of yours to God's country, keep him at DIR. Great trip fellas,I had to pick on ole Justin a bit. He has got to be good fisherman, he used to work with me @ SGO.
