Rocker switches

Post by fishsticks »

I want to thank the folks who assisted me earlier on my livewell light problems. Any advice about replacing or testing rocker switches. I don't want to screw anything up, I am not very apt in this area with boats. Just pull them out?

Like I said earlier, I have a Sea Pro SV1700CC 2006 rig. The switches on the port (3) all work well and light up when inguaged. The (3) starboard switches which are not labled and was not covered with me at the dealer do not light. One does, the one that runs the stereo, but barely now. This past trip my stereo quit working, and I am pretty sure it is the switch(thinking one actually work the livewell lights)[img][img][/img][/img]. I assumed these three switches were just accessories, there is no help fom the manual. Any help on how to test or why these three would be out. I have checked and they are wired. The reset fuses seem useless. At least the main three which run the bilge, nav lights and livewell work. I tried to research past threads, I don't want to beat a dead horse, but you folks know the deal. Thanks, Carlos Hopefully this pic will upload, I know there is a wealth of info to figure it out if it does not, just being lazy and hope it works.

Cant say w/out looking but I say a corrosion problem somewhere in the wires. Prolly not the switch. to be safe just rewire it all from the radio, bilge, livewell etc....all the way back to the switch. try to do it with one single wire for each switch. Connections let in the salt. Solder the connections.
