Keaton Beach 3-22
Took my nephew on his first trout fishing trip. He had been used to fishing ponds for bream and catfish, but I always showed him trout and reds when we had a good trip. He wanted to go so we took a shot at it. We went out of Keaton and headed north to Dekele. We put three keeper trout in the boat fairly quick. One was 19" and the other two were 16" and 16 1/2". We caught very few shorts. The ones we caught were on the new penny and the nuclear chicken gulps. We headed South after lunch and only picked up one more at 18" out from grassy island.
We tried to make it back in to meet some of you guys at the weigh in, but we were too late. It was a slow day for us, but it was good enough to make my nephew want to go again.

How was the water over by Grassy? It's ususally really clear this time of year.

Glad y'all got out there. I'm sure your nephew enjoyed the day.
What was I supposed to do today?
