Working & Playing - Carrabelle 3-25-08

Post by dolphinatic »

Had some boat work to do down at Carrabelle this morning, so my buddy Raymond decdied to go with me since he has the week off from work.....I think he thought there might be a chance we get a little fishing in  It was a bit breezy in the morning, so we did a little work waiting on the wind to die down some and for some water to come in so we could launch the boat from CBC. About 1:00pm, we headed out for some quick offshore fishing at a close in spot around 40 ft. We sent down some live bait and BAMMM......soon as it hit the bottom. Up came a nice gag at 30" :o

This went on for about 25 minutes, and then they shut off. Did manage a nice red snapper during the "down time."

We managed a few shorts and a few more red snapper before calling it a day. Wind layed down nice and it turned out to be a really nice afternoon on the water......too bad we had to go

Image

We managed 5 nice gags for the cooler and a few nice rock bass. Released some pretty snapper between 18"-26" :smt010
Bait used was live pinfish and whole squid. Biggest grouper (32") came on whole squid.

Nothing like fresh grouper for dinner..... :lick:

Woof Woof......actually, I didn't think we would have time to go. Raymond is getting so good at helping me, I may offer him a job!!!! :smt005 You know us, anytime we head towards the water, we're bringing fishing gear along with a scrub brush  :smt005.....

Sometimes it pays off....

I'd take a day at work like that any day
