Re: Advice on new boat
Then you're going to have to get a yak or a skiff, and we all know how well you and yaks work!
Re: Advice on new boat
BB, take a close look at these bad boys. I saw them in person for the first time yesterday in Albany. They are "BAD"!

Re: Advice on new boat
To get 5-7", you're gonna have to go mainly flat bottom. HPX-T, Dolphin, ECC, Beavertail, etc.

Re: Advice on new boat
YUP! That's what I'm talking about! But probably drop the ECC for around these waters.Eerman wrote:To get 5-7", you're gonna have to go mainly flat bottom. HPX-T, Dolphin, ECC, Beavertail, etc.
Bonefisher 9.5" draft. But that thing will pass BB

Re: Advice on new boat
Get a john boat....trick it out ....and be done with it. It'll get you to the fish cheaper than anything out there. Except maybe a kayak and we all know you ain't getting no kayak.

Re: Advice on new boat
No offense but tricked out John boat and BB = wet arse
center, side console or BTX Beavertail.
Float and get on plain where most boats can't. And pull it with a Pinto if you need to. If you knock holes in it, get the bottom redone every year or so. TC knows a good glass guy.

No offense but you can't get a Beavertail for $5-$6000.

What the hell are you talkin' bout. There's more fish caught outta john boats than any other boat in this area. Don't work my ass.Barhopr wrote:what good is 5-6k if it don't work?

Re: Advice on new boat
BB, Problem solved. I will make you a hell of a deal on my Egret its an 18ft Carbon Kevlar. Several forum members have fished out of it. 60+ mph, Dry, handles a heavy chop like a 20 ft mako CC., and I can get her in 6". Give me a call... Sea spot has my # or Cairo Trout. We will take it for a sea trial (fishin').
