I prefer it for fishing with the kids after work. Oh well, I can only hope it stays and wish DST was all year.
TALLAHASSEE -- Florida Senator Bill Posey filed a measure Friday proposing an end to Daylight Saving Time in Florida. The Republican from Brevard County said the practice of changing clocks twice a year served more as an exercise in frustration for residents of Florida, and threw out the natural equilibrium of the body. Posey described Daylight Saving Time as an annoyance that can be avoided.
His measure has no companion bill in the Florida House, but is enjoying a great deal of success in the Senate. A committee on governmental operations passed the measure by a vote of 4-1. It has two more Florida Senate committees to clear.
If the measure does pass, and pick up a companion bill which passes, and if the governor signs it all into law, Florida would join Hawaii as the only state that, in its entirety, does not observe Daylight Saving Time.
Posey's office reported late Friday afternoon that it had received numerous calls regarding the matter. Almost all of them were overwhelmingly positive.

Glad they're concentrating on the important stuff.

"Why does Sea World have a seafood restaurant?? I'm halfway through my fish burger and I realize, Oh man....I could be eating a slow learner."

I hope it fails. I would prefer we stay on DST year round.
It's amazing how a small personal interest group can control the outcome of a decision that affects so many.
