Spanish Macks
I haven't been out in a few weeks. Have the Spanish Macks shown up in any good numbers yet? I've seen sporadic reports of one or two here and there. Any big schools running yet? Thanks y'all. See you out there this weekend if the weather holds up.
Re: Spanish Macks
From the reports I've seen, I'd say their around. Warm weather all this week won't hurt either.

Re: Spanish Macks
Thanks guys. Anything around Dog Island yet?
Re: Spanish Macks
I've seen them or had at least one catch or break-off from them on all but maybe one of my trips in the last two weeks around St. Marks / Aucilla area, and a little west of St Marks, and I think I've been about 7 times in the last 14 days. Started seeing the bigger ones in deeper water off St Marks Sunday, and friends of mine reported catching in Ochloknee and Lanark areas, so I'd imagine they'd be around Dog Island as well. In the last couple years, that's the first action I've really seen heat up ahead of the major spring pop, so I'd be surprised if you can't find em there right now.

Re: Spanish Macks
I was at Mexico Beach this past weekend and caught plenty around Port St. Joe between the marina and Beacon Hill.
Took my 12 year old daughter and her friend and they wore me out taking them off and putting lines back out.

Re: Spanish Macks
Thanks y'all. I went out yesterday and managed a few. Never could find a school but landed a few scragglers at Dog Island Reef. Got into a bunch of bluefish though...always fun.
Re: Spanish Macks
Glad you had fun! They are on the move... Dad went back to the exact spot where I slayed them.
It was four days later and they only got 3.
