April 5, 2008 NFGFC Tournament Results

Post by tin can »

Man, what a day. The weather was lousy. I'm amazed and pleasantly surprised that 23 boats participated in the NFGFC tournament held out of Jerry's Bait and Tackle.

When I was preparing to conduct the weigh in I knew there was rain on the way. I asked Theresa and her crew (owners of Jerry's Bait and Tackle) if it would be all right if I sat the scales up under the front shelter of their building. They suggested it would be much drier if I sat the scales up INSIDE THE STORE. I indicated this was probably gonna get messy. They responded with "This is a bait shop. We have live shrimp. You can't make it any more messy than that.". Well, we sat the scales up inside the store, and we trashed the place. I can't thank Theresa and her crew enough for all the support and assistance they give NFGFC.

It was a tough day to fish. Not many fish were caught. But, that's what tournament fishing is all about. A big thank you to all who participated, and congratulations to those that did well.

Way to get out there and get em everybody.
I see the kayak people didn't much "represent" this time. :smt017
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.

It was a very tough day but we had a great time and ended up 4th place and a 200.00 bluefish. Well worth the soaking we took. Congrats to everyone who weighed in fish and braved the wind and seas and a big   to all of the club members that fished on such a nasty day.

I was shocked at the number of people we saw at weigh-in. Thanks everyone for showing up in spite of the weather, and big thanks to the officers and to JBT for all your work and support! A wet time was had by all!

Just a slight correction. This was a NFGFC tournament that just happened to be held out of JBT.

BayGator...we all talk so much about BBf.net...NFGFC...JBT...and our other sponsors that sometimes it gets confusing as to who does what.
Bigbendfishing.net is the Official web site forum for NFGFC. Other than a place to post and chat about North Florida Gulf Fishing Club agendas, they are not related to NFGFC.
JBT is a NFGFC sponsor. They(JBT) are NFGFCs' headquarters for local tournaments.
On the road we use area marinas to host our tournaments.
