Trout? 04/26/08

Post by Hammer »

Where are the big trout all of a sudden??? Fished out of St Marks today and can't believe the slow trout bite. :x We were on the water at 6:45 and headed east out near the Aucilla. Weather was good with a forecasted 5mph out of the SE. Lots of boats headed out that way early this am. First or second cast with a topwater plug and the fought was on with a big spainard for a few minutes. Image I thought this was going to be a action packed day. :( The rest of the day we caught small trout and snot cats. Wound up with 7 trout with the largest at 20 inches, one flounder, and 3 spanish. Hope somebody did better that us today.

Fish the clearer water...then you'll find the bigger trout.

Nice mack, Hammer. I hear on you the small trout. Though I limited out last weekend, I had the same luck catching a bunch of small ones.
