A little worried about going to Ecky after hitting a rock last time, but there seemed to be enough water so we went. we were introducing someone to the flats, so I hoped for a good day. My wife and boy, a friend of hers(the newbie), Bob the builder and I got on the water about 8:00 and headed out. Heard reports of fish being caught in 3' so we started there. I had hoped for some topwater action but alas, I broke my baitcaster on a cast

so so much for that. We never really got into them but we had steady action all day. We managed to show my wifes friend a good time. She caught the biggest trout, a blue, a spanish, and a flounder all on her first trip. The water was 72-75 degrees through the day. My boy was the bait catching king bringing in pinfish by the dozen.( with help from momma) We fished spotty bottom fro 3-6' and wound up with 10 trout to 19"(btb lost a 27" at the boat) 2 flounder( my wife and her friends 1st) 2 spanish, 1 blue , and a huge black sea bass.
All and all it was a great day on the water back at Ecky. I tried to hail members on the radio but no answer. I think someone tried but I could not make it out. White/pink curl was the high bait followed by gulp and pinfish.
