Econfina 5/1/08

Post by High Hope »

Left the river on outgoing tide at 9:30 and headed towards Snipe. The wind was just to much for our little weldbuilt, so we did not even think of going offshore. We anchored up on the same hole that has been good to James and I before. Fished for about an hour to high "NADA". Got sort of bored, and took a break for lunch. We had 4 other boats near us, and they did not seem to be doing aything either. The boats cleared out and the tide started to fall. We stayed put. In the next three hours we caught 25 Reds, 5 nice trout, 2 sheepheads, several cats, rays, etc. used 50shrimp. They hit it on a float, or just a jig & shrimp. We did fish some gulps but they were not as productive as the shrimp. We got back to the dock by 5:30pm. The wind did die down, but we were glad we did not leave the hole. We both had a great day, and James did out fish me 2 to 1. I would have caught more but I ended up being the net man.

Dayum. 25 reds. I'd say you had a nice spot and made a good call. Thanks for sharing.
