Another keaton report 4/28-29/08

Had a business meeting with a colleague in Perry and since he has never done trout fishing before, I decided to take him slinging corks to see if the trout are still home. Got to the marina just in time to watch a water sprout heading toward land and turned into a tornado. It hit Dekab (sp?) beach taking of the roof of a house and damaging several others. Boy, that was scary. Anyway, splashed the boat in at 3 pm and battled the howling wind for 3 hours catching plenty of pinfish (for bait) and 2 barely keeper trout. We fish in 3' water, didn't venture pass the north birdrack.

Tuesday morning was cold but the wind has subsided and was bearable. We ran north, started the day with a tackle check to make sure they can handle something substantial by Don hooking into a cobia.


The action wasnt fast and furious like the week before with Dave (Ddb) but we pick up mostly keeper in 3-4' water. Here's Don with a keeper.

The wind died down by around noon giving us a nice comfortable drift. Calvin got into the action as well. "Where's my cork"........its DOWN!! its DOWN!! Open the bail, count: 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand............Okay, now reel, reel, reel.....

We quit at around 3 and ended up with 12 keepers ranging from 15.5 - 21''.

Again, we were in 3-4' water, didnt matter if the water was stained or clear.
