center console seat replacement

Post by No Slack »

Looking to replace the seat for the front of my center console. It is currently made of wood with a cushion and seat material that has finally ripped up pretty bad. Would like to have a seat made of something other than wood and then just use a removable cushion for when someone sits on it. Not sure if it would be a stock size part or need to be fabricated. It's about 3 foot long X 1.5 feet wide. Any suggestions on who to call for this type of work? :smt017

I ended up just buying a flip-flop seat that has a cooler base. It cost so much to recover that I just bought a new seat.
Check out ebay and there is another site that deals with all kinds of boat seats and free shipping. Saw one the other day that has rod holder built into the back rest so that you could troll or store rods.

Call Thomas's Top shop in Cairo....did my boat cushions and a friends. Experienced and reasonable. They made 3 large cushions for me for the Mav and did great work, $176 and got them in 3 days.

Thanks for the suggestions guys and appreciate any more. With my wife having our 2nd son just any day now the boat will not be going to the water for a little while and I figured this was a good time to get some repairs done.

Sorry about reviving a sleeping topic, but didn't know if you knew about Marine Liquidators in Perry. They have all type of surplus seats and cushions from all types of boats. Real cheap compared to most suppliers.(850) 223-3213.

It was nice to hear from you again! I 'member keepin' up with you and Chalk way back when y'all haunted the "Finny" River when y'all both lived up 'round Sylvester. I think 'bout you in particular every time I go down to St. Marks where you grew-up and that ill-fated time we tried to go offshore on that ole "Seanile" Cabo San Lucas! I hope all is well with you and your health is good. I remember you'd set-up a place in K. Beach. God bless you (and Chalk, a little too) -- nicer Southern doods, I've never met. :smt010 :smt082 :smt098

Thanks Pinocchio. Everything is well with me, health, wealth (wealth as much as can be expected on retited pay) and life in general. I have missed all my ole fishing buddies, (even Chalk a little bit.) Have to post when visiting family with internet. Hope to get it hooked up in my place soon. Got to get electric first. Most months it's a choice between boards for the house or bait for the fish. Sad to say most of the time the bait wins out. :(
