I have a 90 ETEC on my CS21 DLX and love it. It has been bullet-proof so far. Pushes a 21 x 80 barge mid 30s and is cheap on gas. Has around 150 hours on it.

If I can get enough husband points built up I am going to replace the old 50 hp Mercury on my Bass Tracker with a 50 hp E-Tec. Everything I have heard about them is good.

Quick question...what oil do you have to use in the E-Techs? I had a salesman (granted he was trying to sell me a Honda 4 stroke) tell me that you have to run a specific oil in it to keep the warranty. He also said that the oil cost like $40 a gallon. Was that just more 'sales speak'?

You don't have to run the $40 oil if you don't want to. But it is nice. I ran nearly 100 miles in three days and burned a little over a quart of oil. I just had to have the oil injector replaced under warranty, but other than that my 60 is strong like Bull

I don't run an E-Tec but I've noticed I get better oil "mileage" using the off brand oil than with the Merc. brand oil.
