This is what it is all about

Post by PinFishKing »

The weekend of November 22nd and 23rd turned out to be a pretty good weekend. We had 5 people in the boat. We caught a limit of Amberjack the first day and a total of 16 keeper grouper over both days. We caught the Aj's at the Yamaha Reef on big live Pinfish . Most of the grouper were caught in 25 foot of water or less bottom fishing with live Pinfish, the rest were caught trolling Mann's Stretch 25+. The young gentleman in the picture is my son, Greg Jr.

launch

Post by PinFishKing »

We launched from St Mark's. We normally go out of Econfina but this time of year the tide rarely cooperates.

Smile

Post by PinFishKing »

He was laughing and smiling at the beginning of the day, he was so tired he could barely hold the fish up for pictures at the end of the day. That was his first Aj trip. We put it on him. I love to watch people catch Aj's for the first time. You can't explain to someone how hard they pull, they have to experience it for themselves.

Sipping gas

Post by PinFishKing »

I wouldn't say "sip". It really depends on how you push it. We try to run 3/4 throttle most of the time. We average 2.3 mpg and we have a 100 gallon fuel tank. It ain't exactly cheap, but I've seen worse.

I've got a 250efi and get about 1.5, but I lean on it. I'll eventually get one of those 4 strokes.
