Favorite lure for speckled trout in the winter?
Mine - Rat-L-Trap

Okay Mr. Keels, I appreciate that- How about this one...
I got a plug in my CCA tackle box called a Billy Bob's or something, it has two eyelets on it, do you know how to fish that one?
I wish that these lure companies would get a web site or something which would remind me, its not like I keep the package around or anything
By the way- so not to derail- when I fish in the winter I usually fish back creeks which I take great pleasure in 4-wheeling to on old trails in my Jeep Wrangler
I usually throw a DOA into the deep holes in the bends, if I think I am fishing it too slow, I slow down some more
I brought some of those sliding weight shrimps I saw on TV, I will try them out this weekend and post a report if they catch anything

nothing alive?
So none of y'all use live shrimp or pinfish, cast slowly to bottom with no extra weight? No wonder I'm not catching any trout.
when all else fails, read the original post
I guess this whole thread was about artificials, wasn't it.
It caught my eye because I haven't had much luck lately, either with live bait or with lures. I'll have to try a couple of those y'all recommend.
Truth is, my fishing partner is the lure specialist. She probably thinks I act like I'm back on the creek bank with crickets and earthworms, but she's too gracious to say so.
