After missing Monday, I got the hint there may be a red or two around Noleville. So off I went forecast 5-10 NW ...awesome. Note even close. 15 mph E all day, turning SE in the afternoon. Oh well. Put the hpx-t to test in 3 footers and 56 miles later I'm more impressed with this little boat. Ran W and E and over to Dog for a while late.

Picked up 2 18-20" fish early blind casting around some bars in the early morning. Once sun came out found a good stretch but got cut off by a tarpon fisherman...oh well find new cheese.

Waves were ugly W so limped back E to find protected water. Found 1 small school and got the fly to the right spot and missed the eat. Off to the next spot and found 1 small school quartering away....a small lead with the clouser and a nice turns and eas...yes! 24" of pissed red!

Bummed when found someone had switched my camera to email photos...but post anyway:

Last spot found a few fish, had 2 nice eats and caught 1 silver red, but he got off during the fight. Feeling good, sea'n red, when a boat poles into view then cranks up and many dozens reds run past my boat. Got one to eat, but again with the missed strip strike...bite ended after that, putting the fuzzy wuzzy on their noses but no interest whatsoever...Always fun to be on the water.

Very nice report.
That said, I ain't feeling sorry for Nole anytime soon.
I'm not sure I'd be too quick to call him out though.
He might come back with something near 30 but do it with a Scooby Doo Rod just for grins.
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
