Well, the boats and jet skis were out in force today. I ran a long ways looking for serenity that was never found. Got buzzed by jet skis in two different spots. Next time I'm firing a top water plug at 'em . . . serenity now, serenity now.
On at 7:00. Morning was real slow with only one fish to the boat by 11:00. Ran west for a good while until I found some fishy looking water. Started down the flat and saw a huge fish sitting in the center of a big pothole. As I started my cast she felt the boat and slowly pushed away. I put a long cast to her left and she turned and tracked the fly. As she got closer I saw that this was no red. It was an obnoxiously big trout. She started to accelerate and my knees got weak. Just then she decided she'd tormented me enough and turned and swam away. I hate to guess how big she was but she looked bigger (easily) than a 28 inch fish I got a couple years back. Got three reds on this flat and then headed back east to fish the fall. Found a bunch of happy fish in one of my reliable falling water spots. Thanked the fish gods for salvaging the day and headed for the hill at 3:00.
nice nole, I knew either you or RS had to be out today. Just missed you at the ramp. Went by to watch the circus at the ramp, the wind was howling there about 5
Went to Lake Oconee this weekend and had to deal with the jet ski's as well as the yahoo's tubing while we were trying to fish. I think that idiots have a sixth's sense for pissing off fisherman. My father-in-law said he's going to start carrying a shotgun in his boat, just to scare them, probably.
