Lanark 5/18 - Thanks to PapaSmurf

Post by cygraphics »

I just wanted to say a quick thanks for a great trip with Captain Terry (PapaSmurf) out of Lanark this past weekend. He had donated this trip for one of the raffle prizes at the FCKA Classic in March. I had my Step-dad come along as well since he doesn't get out that much and we had a great time. It was really nice to fish a different area than what I'm use to in kayak. It was also nice to fish standing up all day. :D

There is no telling how many fish we caught and about 8 different species ranging from pompano to flounder, but we ended up bringing home 6 keeper trout up to 20", a founder and a spanish. All in all it was a great morning and my dad and I had a great time fishing with Terry.

Below are a couple pics.... as well as the bear I saw on the way down. The photo doesn't really show his size well though since he was in the ditch.

Glad you got out! Sounds like a heck of a trip, should of got the bear to pose for a pic on the bow of the boat, that would have been classic!!!

6 trout, a flounder and a spanish in cooler aren't bad.
Glad you and your Step-dad got out there and had a good time together.

What type of call did you use to get the fish near the boat? Hey fish!!!! That's what I use.
