Maiden Voyage for the KyTrkyHntr Mini-Cooper!!
Well the wind was blowing a little harder than I wanted this a.m. since this was my first time out. The first launch spot looked a little scary to me so I went to my backup plan and ran over to Lynn Haven and launched in North Bay.... Wind wasn't that bad here...So far so good..... Paddled around the point and setup my drift... nothing on topwater I'm thinking here we go..... I'm going to get skunked......... 2nd drift through and BAM.... Blue fish.... o.k. maybe i'm a little too far out... at least he didn't cut me off cause I was using a light leader.... Paddled back and setup my drift again...... This time much better!
I drifted the area for a couple of hours and had a couple of "dink" trout and then the rest were pretty much this size all morning...10 Trout in all!
Got cut off later in the a.m. and I'm sure it was another Blue. Caught a Lady Fish and a few more Trout on up in the a.m. Not a bad 4 hours for the first time out!!!.... That Drift Sock was the best investment I made. Sorry about the close-ups, but i'm still trying to get the hang of shooting pics with one hand

Thanks guys! This afternoon was even better. It was way too windy in the bay so I stayed in the bayou fishing old docks. Caught this guy on soft plastic. He pulled me around like a truck.... It was a blast!Supa Fly wrote:Good job on the fish. Welcome to kayak fishing!

I'd say your hooked now.
Now repeat after me:
I admit that I am powerless over inshore fishing and my life is unmanagable.

Burnt Mill Creek is a good place to launch and go see Brad Stephens at Sunjammers and mention you know FCKA or me!

KyTrkyHtr is that the Lipper Gripper imitation Boga Grips that you are using? I bought some off Ebay a while back and I love them, they were only $25.00. I have had good luck so far and we have really used them a lot.

Yes! It''s a Bass Pro cheapo...... So far so good.... It seemed to work pretty well for what I was catching. It held onto that redfish really well with no troubles. You can tell it's not the best, but for the few times I'm down it will work for me. I'm sure I'll upgrade later.....
