Lake Hall - May 25

Post by Terrier »

Fished today from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The park was as crowded as I've ever seen it - it appears that gas prices may be keeping some folks closer to home for the holidays. There were skiers, canoeists and kayakers on the lake as well but I found a quiet spot and managed 7 bass, 2 specks and 2 bream. 3 of the bass, the specks and the bream came on the fly rod. The others were caught on a dead sticked senko. None of the bass were of any great size, but a couple put up a good fight on the 4wt, as did the bream.

What color was your senko? I haven't fished one of those in a while, I like them though. I like the very small ones because they do great in the grass.

I fish mostly green senkos - watermelon with black flake, or watermelon with black and gold flakes. I had a few I bought at Kevin's last year that were an amber/green pumpkin laminate that has always done well at Lake Hall. I ran out last night and I don't think Kevin's has them in stock.
