Thanks for the report and welcome aboard guys. That's awesome - I guessed central FL cause you said Exudes - I guessed west coast cause you didn't say DOA shrimp I grew up around Orlando and spent a lot of time around canaverel / mosquito lagoon and bradenton / tampa bay area growing up. In my opinion, the fishing is much better here. You are in for a treat...but watch out for dragons...there ARE dragons in these waters...
oh and are you the guys we saw nail a dragon (rock) around 10:00-10:30am, then move in to the shallow water holding the reds?
Mookbait! At least 401 times better than live bait!

Yeah I finally know why they call it Stoney Bay..
If that was you guys we saw, you were in an area called "The Rock Garden" at the time...and we were in the Scout about 150 feet south of you. The entire areas of Grey Mare Rock, and Cobb Rocks are also surrounded by rocks, as are many points in between. Pretty much from the west side of Stoney Bayou all the way to Aucilla River (well, really quite a bit farther, but I don't normally go much past Aucilla when fishing out of St Marks), there are rocks all over the place. download the waypoints list from this site and get them in your GPS, and be very aware that it is in no way a comprehensive list; just some of the bigger ones.
I recommend goin real slow and using a spotter on the bow until you know certian areas well, unless you have an extra boat to use while the other is being repaired. I record tracks on my GPS and if we don't come near anything significant, I save them and add them to the maps as permenant routes. All that stuff can be bad for your boat, but it's really good for the fishing.
