Pre Tourney, St Marks 5/25/08

[BAD BEHAVIOR]

Decided to head down to St Marks to try and find a few more decent trouts for the tourney. Headed East to Aucilla to check out some waters Seaspot and I drifted over earlier this week. Got on the water about 1:00. Fished back to Cobb, picked up a few in 1.5-3 ft. Fished on down marking rocks with the GPS and foot of the motor. Bumped around and caught a few more. Fished topwater and suspending stickbaits. Had my girlfriend with me, she fished Gulp and corks all day. She put a 19.5, several 18" plus trouts and an overweight puffer fish. My big trout of the day was 22.75 and 3.9lbs. Had two more over twenty and a ton of legals we didnt keep. Had to swing by the redfish hole on the way in to have one for the grill. Final talley for the afternoon, 3 reds to 24" and 35-40 trout to 22.75". Not bad for an afternoon full of yahoos. I had two boats that followed me everywhere I went. Id pick up when they started getting to close and run as fast as I could a couple of miles down and within ten minutes, they would be lining up my drift again. Whoever it was, not cool dudes. If you want to get that close, pay for some of my gas and hop aboard!! A good day all and all. Finished the night off at Angelos with some charbroiled grouper and shrimps shared by my girlfriend and me. Watched the fireworks over the bay and was almost a perfect night except for some White Trash Bash posterkids that were in the corner @ Angelos slinging F bombs and the P word like it was going out of style. Several Eminem types. There were two groups of elderly ladies that were having to put up with these dudes mouths not to mention the way they were talking in front of my girlfriend. I went over and kindly asked them to keep it down because of the little old ladies and one of them smarted off "Yes Sir Mr. Bad Behavior"( I had on my fishin jersey). I told him one more crack like that or any more F bombs and Id be proud to show him where the name came from. Thank Goodness they calmed down!!! All in all a good day. Kept a 20" red and a couple of 19" trout for the grill ,gonna cook 'em in the black pan..... Everything else was released to win me some money come tourney day!!

Glad you calmed down the kids without throwin down in Angelos.
I'd love to have been there to see that!
Sad to say but ya got to expect some of that over the holiday weekend.

Yea, I was glad too. Theres a fine line between making a point and givin/totin an azz whoopin when youre dealing with drunks!!! Their wasnt but four of 'em, I believe Id of took em!! Maybe one of them old ladies would helped me out with the forty lb pocketbook swing. Back in my younger,dumber, wilder days,I had 7 of em at one time at a party. Broke my wrist and two knuckles in my right hand but I was the only one on my feet when it was all over with!!! Bunch of these were involved. You'll have to ask Bow'd and CT sometime, they was spectators!

Sounds like I need to follow you around with a day of fishing like that. We went to ecky and only got 6 keepers and many shorts. you catch most of yours late in the afternoon? We fished only till 2:30.

We fished from about 1:30 to 6:30, caught fish throughout the day. Peak time was probably middle of the afternoon.

You know, I try to take a cheap shot about how big the boats grow up thar, thinkin you was in your maverick, and ya just prove me wrong ... realized not long after I posted that that 5/25 I saw you pullin BB up the ramp when I was drivin up the channel...missed ya by about 2 idiots in front of me
