Cobia out of Econfina

Post by Palmer »

Perfect ending to a perfect day... My business partener and I left about 6:15 from Thomasville to do alittle trout fishin out of Econfina. We were about to call it a day after cacthing only one limit of trout from 8:00 to 1:30 when two Cobia swam right up to the side of my boat and fell in behind the boat..Noth thinking I had only 12lb test I chunked the jig into harms way and the fight began...the fight lasted an awsome 45mins and when I finally got him to the boat Trip gaffed the whopping 38in 23lb monster :-D :-D ....I screamed like a little girl... it is a personal best for me so for give me for the long story...I tried for 30mins to post the pics and could not figure out how.... any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Congrats on a great cobia! One of my neighbors in campground said folks on his boat had four on Sunday am and landed none.

Awesome catch Palmer!! Those cobia are a blast, here is a picture of one I caught last year..... It fought better than any fish I have ever caught. Just when I thought the fight was over he saw the boat and took off again! I enjoyed that trip. Glad you got into a good one!
