Decided to try some old spots I used to spoon for reds. Relearning the flats for areas with good sight fishing. Nothing to throw at through the rise, saw alot of reds, but always too late, too murky, dark bottom, etc...1 trout landed on a clouser
The fall was going to have to be it. Found some new water where I could see bottom well. Man, what a ride, the next hour I had many follows and a bunch of eats by fish in the 22-30 inch range. Prettiest was 2 overslot reds fighting over my fly, which I skillfully pulled away by raising my rod instead of strip-striking when one ate 30 feet from the boat
This red was facing up current and ate a toad laid to his right, nice turn and eat. Saved the day.

Great fun, saw a ton reds on the fall. Learned some lessons the hard way...
