Federal Regs/State Regs/changes/etc. etc.

Post by PinFishKing »

I am confused as usual. Can someone in the know verify the link below is to the current federal regulations:

http://www.gulfcouncil.org/Beta/GMFMCWe ... 008web.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And the link below is the current State regulations:

http://myfwc.com/marine/Docs/Jan2008FlR ... sChart.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

After reading both, In Federal and State waters, am I right to believe the Gag size limit is still 22", the Red Grouper size limit is still 20", Amberjack is still 28" to the fork. I can keep an aggregate bag of 5 grouper to include only 1 red. I can keep 1 amberjack. I can keep 2 Red Snapper over 16".

I feel like we are being set up for failure with the changes happening more often.

I also know I need to have circle hooks, dehooking device and a venting tool.
You just can't fix stupid.

Did we ever get a verdict on using grouper jigs?

They are OK, even tipped with bait.
