Well I really enjoyed my little 1442 jon boat and I really had fun with it in "big water". Although several of my friends on here seemed a little concerned with a recent post where it was obvious that I was way too far out in that little boat. After many of your emails and phone calls, I convinced my wife I needed something safer. Wednesday I bought a Key West 1720CC and I am so thankful for it. It has a 90hp Yamaha on it and I feel like I am the luckiest guy in the world. I used to be big into bass fishing and I enjoyed fishing tourneys in my free time, but once I sold my bass boat I gave that up. I knew that when I bought another boat I wanted a salt water boat but I wanted something I could still fish some little tourney's with and be able to get in shallow water. I think I am going to like this boat. I have talked to several folks who have one, including Tom Keels, and everyone loves theirs. I wanted to post a couple of pictures for you guys to see. It isn't the biggest or nicest boat on the water but I couldn't be any happier!!
As you will notice in this picture I have moved the lawnmower out of the garage to make room for my boat (plus my wife's Tahoe! )
This is my favorite picture because it shows my wife helping me wash it? I hope this isn't just a one time thing!
"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank GOD for the United States Marine Corps." Eleanor Roosevelt, 1945
I understand your excitement....as I stated before, I had a early 90's model 1700 that I really enjoyed. I sold it to a friend and still get to fish out of it occasionally. I think the 1720 is even better. Enjoy !!!
