Fly hook size ?
Probably gonna wear everybody out with questions on flys but what size do some of you use for instance , on a clouser for reds? also for sliders ect ? I bout wore my fingers out this afternoon experimenting on various patterns.

Re: Fly hook size ?
For my 7 wt I prefer as small as a #6 to #1, mainly #4's...for the 9 wt I like #2 to 1/0...Hook sizes vary with companies
Re: Fly hook size ?
Hmmm.... everything I tied so far has been on a #1 or 1/0 3407DT I think it is...Figured a 4 or 2 would have been a better choice..Will try to find some next week..

2, 1, and 1/0. I will occasionally fish a 4 or 6 if the fish are laid up and not doing much or if I am targeting sheepshead. I use Mustad 34007 on most all of my trout and redfish flies.
