you wont ever be fishing that boat like it is in the picture. Put whatever you weigh up in the front, then look at how it floats. Not saying you're big or nothing, but I bet you gain a few inches in the back.

Not sure what you mean Mills. I plan on fishing the boat exactly as it is in the picture. As it is, the bow touches the bottom before the stern does. I played around in the shallow and easily took off today in 1.2 ' of water. Had to take off with the tabs down, jp up, and work the jp back down as I took off. Thats fairly skinny for a boat that drafts 8-10" supposedly. I can move the cranking battery up front and then a Yeti cooler with ice up front. all my gear goes in the front compartments. How can i get any other weight forward? I want to shift weight up front without adding anymore weight to it. She poles pretty good now, just feels like a bass boat a bit in the water. when standing in the boat at the console, the bow feels really light. Just asking , looking for advice. Thanks for the input but please elaborate a little so you can help me make her perform at her best.  Oh yea and heres a few pics of an older model 17MA and how it sits in the water. Not a lot of difference but I think maybe moving as much weight forward will help.

Got no experience to speak from, (with your rig) but just looking at the pic's and comparing the two rigs, I see two unknown's (to me). One, I can't say from the pictures if your rig has a bigger engine weight than the other one pictured. Secondly, It may be that the power pole is moving the center of gravity towards the transom a bit as well. When your under power, the forward vector may produce a better look. I think what Mills was saying is that if your fishing off the front deck the profile would change. If it handles the way you want, then what else could you ask for. You have put yourself together a very nice package  Don't be so picky :-D (just kid'n!)

I kept getting waves over the back of my Hewes and never could get comfortable unless I was fishing by myself on the bow.

The other boat in your pictures looks like it is floating much more level. Look at the deck and not the bow vs aft moving weight forwrd may help.

What you don't want is a wet cranking battery and calls to Sea Tow, or a boat that two can't fish out of or your gear and feet stay wet.

Another forum member had an older boat redone and the scuppers are to low with two people in the back it takes on water.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

My motor weighs less than the 130 in the pic. The pics are good to compare but my tabs are mounted lower than the ones on the older Maverick. Cts right , I forgot I had the JP all the way up. Sir Reel, :smt009 :-D . I am a picky bastid, dont deny it. I love the way the boat runs, I just need to shift a little weight forward. Im gonna tinker with it some more today and see what happens. My lab puppy chewed my trailer wires last night so right now Im trying not to shoot a lab puppy!!!

When I look at the 2 boats I'm looking at the tow hooks. The ones on your boat appear to be about 4 inches from the water, while the older mavericks hooks seem to be 8 inches above the water. Looks like a 4" difference at rest.

May also want to get it rigged the way your gonna fish it. Full tank of gas, livewells full of water, cooler full of ice etc before you mess with it too much. But sitting at rest it looks like the rear is drafting 10" or better.
