HELP with Flare Gun Question

Post by Sir reel »

I was in the process of replacing some flares that have gone past the expiration date. The gun I bought (aprox 5 years ago) came with the short 12 guage type cartridges. Image

Now the most common cartridges I see available are the HP (high performance) type

I have not been able to find ANYONE! in the retail level that can tell me with complete assurance that both types will work in my gun. Can anyone out there tell me if there has been a change in the design of the gun that would prohibit the longer HP flares from being used in a 5 year old gun. I don't have the gun with me or I would not need the answer. I've been on Orion's web site and it was no help. Thanks.

They work. I have the same gun and shoot both in it. The HP flares just simply shoot higher than the old 12 ga. type.

Yep the HP flares are perfect for them azz holes that run across the end of your drift. Got to lead em a little farther with the pistol style flare gun though. :-D

The only thing that ticks me off is they no longer fit nicely in the case on the clip....
