Went out of Alligator Harbor at 3:30 am and fished the banks with topwater. We started the morning and it was smooth as glass. But as we launched the kayaks, the wind came out of the south and it was about 95-100 deg F. Like Devils breath. We paddles about 100 yards and it was bitterly cold. Than it settled in at around 75-80 deg F. Very weird, 95% moon out and the sky was not too cloudy. Reed picked up a nice Trout that measured around 21”. I caught one at 21.5 and then a Redfish around 18”. Reed picked up a 24” Trout and then I found a hole in my kayak. I paddled back and other Kayakers started showing up for the Tarpon Tournament that we were having as a monthly club tournament. I went home and got another kayak and came back and picked up a 23” trout at around 7:30 and Reed caught about 5 more reds up to 23”. Trout bite was pretty good.
