Hey MudDucker' don't you take boyscouts out scalloping each year? How do you do it? What age boys and how many parents? Also how many boats? We may want to take out our Bear den.

Yes sir, I have taken the troop each year now for the last 10 years or so. I take all of them that have passed the swim test. I've even had a few non-swimmers whose parents wanted me to take them. I put a life vest on them on the hill and it stays there until we get back to the hill. Myself or another adult hang on to them in the water. Number of adults and boats depends on the number of boys who want to go. I've had as many as 4 boats and 10 adults. Last year, I only took my boat, 7 boys and 3 adults. At all times at least one adult is on the boat watching the group. I keep enough scallop bags for everyone and cleaning spoons. They are responsible for their own cloths, with either swimming shoes or fins required, mask and snorkel. They help clean the scallops and then we usually cook them at our next camp out.
