Boca poon-tang baby

Post by FinsNGrins »

Finally, my summer term ended up there at FSU and I couldn't wait to get down south for the tarpon action. Went with a two buddies down to Boca Grande to fish the pass...Not relaxing at all, it was so crowded I could walk across the pass on the bows of 100 plus boats. Had a bunch of hit and misses on the jiggin' thing and as soon as the crabs started flowing we moved to the beach..It seemed like all that was left around the area were baby poons(70-110 lbs due to full moon spawning time) daisy chainin in 8 ft of water, first crab in the water and bam! Fish on, 30 minute fight, grabbed it and the hook popped off. WOW I was lucky! I know this is big bend reports but hey it couldnt hurt...

Nice report.
I'm sure Boca has a Bend somewhere.
