12 wt is a lot of wood for most fish in the panhandle...it's a lot of wood to cast all day too...might consider an 11 wt. I would look at TFO and ECHO...if you like ebay you can usually find some good deals on custom rods or high end rods (loomis. sage, St. Croix, etc).
I would make sure you have a warranty on the rod - TFO, ECHO and like companies have life time warranty's and will replace the rod for like $25, which is nice if you break one (in the boat or truck
)
