St. George Question(s)

Post by skiffjockey »

Hey guys, first post here! I usually fish Keaton and sometimes Econfina, but I am heading to St. George Island next week for a little RNR with the family. I've never been there, just visited Apalachicola a few times. I appreciate the info for St. George on previous posts lately (KYFRED, bbb and Gizmo) I think it will really be helpful. One question though, is there anywhere to stow a boat while there. I have a 16ft. skiff, so it's not too hard to stick somewhere, I just don't know if I will have room at the house we are staying at. Also, KYFRED, you mentioned Reds and Trout being caught at "the bird". What or where is that exactly? I was thinking of putting in at the bridge and fishing the shallows up and down either side of the island. what do you think? Thanks in advance guys, love the sight!! SJ

There is no boat storage that I know of on St George, however most of the houses have ample room to store that size boat. All along the north side of the island is good fishing, just watch for the bars!! Oh yea, and welcome to the site!!

I fish there as often as i can, i won't give you my exact spot's but, i will tell you to make sure you fish on the bay side of the state park, around in the back near the camp ground. you can put your 16' skiff in at the state park boat ramp, without any problems. good luck :D
