Mercury outboard question

on '05-06 mercury 4 stroke 60hp outboards, were these really a yamaha motor dressed in black?

I'm pretty sure they were, up to about 100hp I think.

I WAS TOLD THAT THE 3 CYLINDER WAS A YAMI BLOCK AND MERK PUT IN THE GUTS. ON SECOND THOUGHT I BELIEVE THE BLOCK IS A TOHATSU, THE SAME AS THE 3 CYL. OMC ENGINES, TOHATSU, SUSUKI, AND YAMI.
