After several break offs, spit hooks, and near misses in both my skiff and my yak over the last few weeks, I finally got one. This fish took a mullet fished on the bottom. It jumped several good times and towed the skiff for close to a mile. I fought it with light tackle on a Curado 300 reel. The fight lasted and hour and forty five minutes and ended with an exhausting 45 minute tug of war to get it off the bottom. The fish was over six feet long and we estimated it to weigh at least 100 pounds. The fish was revived and released safely. It was freakin' awsome and I can't wait to do that again!
