Put in at the Lighthouse around 6:30. Water was smooth as glass, so naturally I started out throwing top water. Fished the bars in front of the Lighthouse for about an hour, catching several trout and a couple of blues on an orange Skitter Walk. After the bite slowed I moved west to look for reds. I found a few shorts and a nice 23" on a bar, using a pink Captain Mike's spoon. Moved a little farther west to scout out a new area and caught a couple more reds and a flounder all on the same spoon. By this time the storm building to the west, so I high-tailed back to the hill and made it back about 5 minutes before it hit.
Great job! Flounder??? I have caught just about everything else on the flats except flounder. I use to catch more flounder in one day (up to 39") in New Smyrna Beach than I have in 8 years in the Big Bend. Do you catch them often?
