lake seminole, june 29th.

Post by kikstand454 »

well, it was drizzling at 6am when we left jack wingates and we headed over to some grasslines and threw buzzbaits. no. spinnerbaits? no. all day long the only thing the bass would take was junebug paddletails on the edges of grasslines. nothing else. was ran off for an hour or so in the middle of the day by a storm but went right back at it and finally caught two fish on a spinnerbait (white and chart. of course.) then the fish went right back to the paddle tails. *shrug* we finished the day with about 17 fish to 3 lbs. and i was outfished nearly two to one. ha.

My son in law went to Seminole yesterday afternoon and fished till dark..Said they caught over 20 fish up to six pounds with most of them being larger fish...Said they caught most of them on 10" culprit worms..I went to the pond (no boat at present) and caught a couple of bank runners..

I feel just the opposite. I would much rather fish Talquin than Seminole. However, I'll be on Seminole on the 19th. Any secrets y'all want to share would be welcomed.

i wouldnt say that they were secrets... but like in the report if its cloudy... a junebug paddle tail with 3/16 lead on it was great. if its hot, well you need to find some sand bars out near the channel with grass on them in 6 to 8 ft. and drag a carolina rig. the watermelon with red flake "senko" type baits were working for us. also the guy i went with had a GREAT day on the same spots slow rolling a spinnerbait.
good luck!!!!
