A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
Put in around 6 this a.m. and headed out. Tide was pushing in pretty good..... Eased into a spot and was watching the water when all of a sudden I see some brozne backs start coming out of the water . That was the first time I had seen tailing redfish up close and personal!!! It's an amazing site!! You guys have it made down here... anyway........ Tossed a DOA shrimp & cajun thunder in front of the group and two pops later this guy slams it! Looked like he had 4 or 5 of his buddies with him... Way cool!
For some reason the DOA & cajun thunder has been my "go to" combo since I've been out. I've been picking up decent trout on it as well. Hey! Whatever works! Thunder boomers were moving in so since i'm the motor I high tailed it out of there! Short but nice morning.....
I was at Encofina this morning and saw those thunderboomers over that way...we had em at one time in all four directions around us....Thunder and lightning but didn't get a drop of rain....Ran up a new creek (to me) to try to get out of the wind and got in some reds...Also some trout early up to 23". Nothing on plastics just topwaters and mirrolures...
