Really about 670 miles north of Shellpoint. I'll be down to Shellpoint the middle of July but wanted to share a few pictures of some of the fish we have caught the last two days here. The big one is a 49 inch muskie caught in the Kentucky river by my freind Dwayne tuesday. The other one is a 40 incher that I caught yesterday. This is my third muskie I have caught this year and we have fished hard for them. Alot of days you don't even see one. But when you hook up and they blast out of the water it makes it all worthwhile. Can not wait till I get my boat in the saltwater. I would like a shot at a tarpon. My muskie pole is up for the test.
I have never ate one. I've been told they are good. There are so few here most of us that fish for them with a passion release the beast to fight again another day. We fished Red River yesterday in a two man boat and it rained on us all morning. About 12 it cleared and we caught three small ones and had one about 38 inch follow but would not take.
If I brought some down it would ruin you. Going to the bait store spending 20-30 dollars on one bait, taking a hand full of advil to keep down the pain in your hands from casting and retreving monster baits all day. But if you knew they were there you no doubt would go after them to. I have one question for all of you. If you could only take one bait inshore fishing what would it be? One bait.
