Re: NFGFC Meeting
In spite of the holiday weekend we had 30 avid anglers attend the meeting.
Officer Scott Olson FWC law enforcement spoke on the new rules and regs for reef fishing.
He did a good job.
Tom Cooksey local owner of VENTAFISH demonstrated his reef fish venting tool.
Junior Dice spoke on how to catch really large trout. You use really large topwater baits and fish them all day long. He said also, you need to fish at least 15 days a month to stay in practice and keep up with the fish bite.
Ashley Mock spoke on catching the largest BigBend Classic trout while competing against 857 other anglers.
He also said any club member is welcome to fish with him or Junior, but you would be fishing everyday holes that do produce good fish. The tournament holes he said are "reserved for tournament day".
The meeting concluded with the raffle prize drawing which included prizes from GAFF Magazine, Polar Bear Coolers, Captain Mikes spoons, Attwood Marine,Bite a Bait lures,Saltwater Assassin,Tallahassee Marine Center, Advantage Marine and many others.
All who were not there were truly missed.
Hope those who could not attend had a Happy and Safe 4th.
No holiday in August. Let's make it our biggest meeting yet.
Remember to log on and sign up for the next club tournament July 12.
