Again Walt, you were not there. Their behavior did not indicate concern, instead they acted as though it was sporting to cause trouble. I am sure when brought before the court they will have their best contrite faces on.

And what is the difference between leaving a dog in a car and a stainless steel dog box in the back of a truck.
I look at it like this, "Would I want to be left in the car?" Folks are looking out for your dog, and I would reflect on how to avoid this in the future. Like not bringing the dog, but if you insist then someone has to be responsible and sit out under a shade tree with the dog while everyone else eats. Everyone knows not to leave a dog in a car and whether it was hot or not when you left, the perception is that you don't care. I did not start this perception, but you should recognize it for reality. It is the perception of most people when they see an animal in a car, while the family dines.
Next time hit a drive thru if that dog has to ride.

If you spent as much time realizing this as you spent trying to figure out how to screw some college student you PERCIEVED called the law, you would not get all worked up. Then you confronted him and expected him to cow tow or back down and he didn't and your pride got hurt. Its best left as a learning experience, and make a different decision in the future. Your pretty lucky, he might have been some kid that fights in the Octagaon, and egged you into a fight, then beat the crap out of you in front of your family and then your pride would really be hurt. Your day really could have been worse if two different officers showed up too. Just write that off as learning expereince. It actually turned out to be a pretty good day with your family, and you came home safe, be grateful for that.

This is a message for everyone, not just you. We can all learn from this experience.
This message is for you and those who think like you!

It is your right not to take your dog along on family trips. It is MY right to let my little girl take her pet to the beach rather than coup the pet up in a cage for the week at the vets. No, I will not insist someone sit outside with an animal that is not in danger to assuage the feeling of a few idiots.

"Screw" some college kid...get a life. Whoever called in this false complaint screwed with me and my family right to enjoy our meal and I don't have to take that. These kids acted like they did this for entertainment.

I'm pretty lucky...man..you sure post like you are some more arrogant fellow. I'm not some redneck who gets egged into fights. As for what cops showed up, it wouldn't have made any difference, because I had done nothing wrong. I have NO fear of LEO's. Most are really good folks like the deputy I dealt with and for the others, that is why we have courts and judges.

Bottom line, folks need to learn before they complain and mind their own business where the only thing getting hurt is their perception of an animal's comfort. This all springs from liberal folks like Disney who have painted animals to have human like feelings, which they do not have.

I am grateful that the majority aren't like you on this issue.

I offered yo a solution "but if you insist then someone has to be responsible and sit out under a shade tree with the dog while everyone else eats."

Its pretty much common sense not to leave your dog in then car. I think the majority do agree with that. Those people do not know how much you care for yor dog and read stories about people leaving dogs and children in cars all the time. So go blow your steam off and calm down. You can call me and yell at me if you want, I can handle it. 850-210-9296. And sopmetimes you just have to realize how much worse things could have been and be grateful for that.

Agreed. There is probably a place for this argument, but not on a fishing board. Let's let it go fellas.

Sorry Jsuber, I gotta call you on this one. MD was clear that it was cloudy, and the windows were down. I have a dog that I leave in my vehicle sometimes when we eat at a resturaunt. On a cloudy day, the vehicle with the windows down will not get any hotter than outdoors. I also have a remote start if it is a hot day to leave the A/C on.

Once again, I challenge you and Waltdawg to go up to Thomas County with all your enthusiam and ask why children sit on hot buses for up to 15 minutes at a time with no A/C or fans on 95 degree days?

The real issue here is people out there that can not mind their own damn business. You see them protesting on workdays (so you know they don't have a job) instead of actually doing something productive in the world. Like MD, I would see to it they were arrested for filing a false report, but we know that is not going to happen.

Now lets get technical here Jsuber. Fish are animals too. What if I decided to start protesting that those nasty sharp hooks you are sinking in to their lips are hurting them and you are being cruel to animals? And to top it off, you are suffocating them by taking them out of the water and into the air......

Don't come back with fish are different. Science proved long ago that they have brains just like dogs....

Just some food for thought.

Dubble....

Ok, take it offline or to the PETA board. No place for this here.
